A capital campaign is a highly energized and
focused effort that occurs only a few times in the history of an
organization. Well-planned and -executed capital campaigns can help you
obtain major gift support for building, endowment and other needs, as well
as raise the level of annual giving and open up opportunities for
additional gifts long after the campaign has ended. The strategic
planning necessary for a successful campaign brings administrators, staff
and volunteers together to achieve a common objective within a limited
time. This association not only results in increased contributions, but
also builds lasting volunteer support.
To maximize the effectiveness of your capital
campaign, we can help you:
-
Create a detailed strategic plan for the
entire capital campaign, including budgets, goals, organizational charts
and schedules. Based on the plan, we can help keep the campaign within
the established time frame.
-
Write and produce informational and
educational literature (including the expanded prospectus or case
statement) for volunteers and prospects.
-
Conduct thorough volunteer training and
orientation programs.
-
Select and enlist all leadership and
volunteers needed in the program.
-
Identify individual, corporate and
foundation prospects.
-
Prepare proposals for individuals,
corporations and foundations.
-
Coordinate campaign publicity.
-
Establish a pledge collection, reporting and
accounting system (it is the organization’s responsibility to handle all
gifted funds).
-
Provide post-campaign counseling, which can
help establish continuing programs for long-range development
¾ that is, annual
giving, foundation and corporate support, planned giving and special
projects.
Capital Campaign Philosophy
& Approach
Your organization or institution’s
fund-raising success rests largely upon the work accomplished during the
pre-feasibility study and study periods. These efforts are the catalyst
for prospect identification, volunteer involvement, creating public
interest and positioning the campaign for success.
A capital campaign is a highly energized and

and volunteers together to achieve a common objective within a limited

also builds lasting volunteer support.
On a non-resident basis, our well-trained
project manager will be involved in each step of the campaign. S/he will
be responsible for developing the Campaign Plan, which outlines the
campaign organization, promotion, timetable and implementation strategy.
Using the Campaign Plan as a guide, volunteers will be recruited and
trained. With the volunteer structure in place, the project manager will
assist in coordinating the campaign kick-off banquet and subsequent
solicitations. And of course, when the campaign is completed, the project
manager will help plan the victory celebration. To capitalize on all
available resources, we will stress
¾ in addition to
major outright gifts
¾ planned gifts
to the campaign.
