Near historic Fincastle, Va., one early fall morning. The shrouded yet stately tree stands sentinel beside a country lane. In the image, as in life itself, we see just enough of the path to inspire us ... but we never quite make out the end of the road.

Misty Morning Oval

Photographed near Mabry Mill on the southern part of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This was a magical morning with a dense fog lying gently on virtually the entire area except for the short stretch of fence line with the red berries of a holly tree. We placed "Misty Morning Rectangular" in an oval shape and ghosted the image on the mat.
